Carmine Davis Official Bio

Carmine Davis is an American singer, songwriter, actor, dancer, producer, business man, and philanthropist.

Carmine Davis was born JamCarmine Davis Baby Picturees Thompson in South Bend, IN on January 12, 1991. His brother, Trey Thompson and mother Georgianna Thompson, lived in the homes of their family until his mother got on her feet and could afford an apartment of their own. Davis’ mother, Georgianna Thompson, a single mother took jobs at DELPHI Factories to make ends meet.

While his mother was working hard putting food on the table, Carmine was at home learning dance routines and singing musical numbers with his cousins. It was there where he first adopted the love of performing. “We were those little kids that always wanted the attention  to be on US. Nobody else!” Davis says with a laugh.

At the age of 5, Carmine began to imitate the singers he saw on television. Singing songs by James Bro wn, Luther Vandross, K-Ci & Jojo, Mariah Carey, and others Carmine’s family and friends began to notice little Carmine’s vocal ability! “I would sing and they’d be like ‘Uh-oh! Sing it, Terrell!’ or ‘Terrell can sssaaanng’!  I loved the feeling!” Carmine wrote his first song at the age of 8. “It had a great harmony, too. I didn’t think it was all that, but my family and friends were like ‘Your voice is great!’”

After Carmine’s grandfather suffered from one of many strokes, the singer’s mother moved the family to Jackson, MS to be closer to his sick grandfather and to get out of the tough neighborhoods.

Reluctantly, a young Carmine Davis started to attend the Pearl Public Carmine Davis Baby PictureSchool District, where he immediately found it hard to adjust and fit in. “I downright hated it. I hated the school. I hated the weather. I hated the people. I just wanted to go home. I was a spoiled brat. But, eventually, I realized that I wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon, so I found a way to adjust.”

Carmine Davis took the ‘class clown’ role. “I made a fool out of myself on a regular basis. Being sarcastic or just asking dumb questions. I never liked the ‘attention’ per say, but I liked to make people laugh.”

“I remember one time I faked a faint! I don’t know where I came up with the idea that a 10 year old fainting in class would be funny, but I did it. I hit the floor and all I heard were gasps. I closed my eyes real tight, and when I opened them… everyone around me was staring. The teacher was like ‘Oh, my Lord! Are you okay!?’ I didn’t want her to call the nurse, so I was like ‘I’m fine… I can go to my other class, now. Thank you’,” Davis says with a laugh.

Carmine Davis joined every single performing arts group possible in high school. “Of course I did Drama for four years, and I did choir for one. I’m an honorary member of the Thespian Society. Although I was in all of those things and I liked to be the center of attention, I found it really hard to be on stage. I would get little parts in the plays, and I would do horribly! I was terribly shy on stage,”

“After a while I got tired of being shy. I got tired of being with the ‘theater’ people. I never really fitted in to that crowd. So I quit. I quit everything to focus on my own career. At 14, I had my mind on my business and I wanted to be famous and I wanted to be a working musician.”

Carmine Davis GoldCarmine began to take time to privately invent and enrich his talents and career by training professionally and studying musical acts like Prince, Janet Jackson, Luther Vandross, Beyonce, Tina Turner, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, James Brown, Usher, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Madonna, and more.

“I don’t want to repeat anything anyone’s ever done with their career. I’ve seen people come and go, and I want to remain. The best thing about my career is that I’m not taking steps backward. I’m constantly moving forward, and that’s something I’d like, no, I’m going to continue to do. I don’t stop for anyone, and never will.”
