CONTROVERSY: THE REMIXES EP on iTunes

Cee Gets Candid with The UK’s Bullet Magazine

The UK’s Bullet Magazine has featured Carmine in their latest issue! Cee gets candid and opens up about his troubled childhood, drive and even reveals he plans to move outside of the Pop/Dance genre sooner than expected! The issue has sold out, but you can read the full interview below!

Bullet Magazine: So you describe yourself as a Pop, Dance and Rock Artist — Is that the music you have always been interested in?:

CARMINE DAVIS: I’ve always been interested in all types of music, but I won’t lie: my first love was R&B, Hip-Hop and Soul music because that’s what I was introduced to initially!

BM: You had a tough upbringing, what was the hardest thing you think you had to face growing up?:

CD: I don’t think I had a tough up-bringing compared to others! My mom was a kick-ass mother!: we always had food, clothes, water, electricity and shelter! I have some family members that at any given time didn’t have two out of five of those things!

But I think it’s the fact that my family comes from a limited background! We don’t have much, my family are just hard working people. Everything I have built and will build comes from absolutely nothing, which is also something I’m very proud of at the same time.

BM: Do your experiences influence your song writing now?:

CD: Absolutely! I find it a lot easier to write when I’m full of one emotion! I can never write when I’m mellow! When I’m angry, depressed, excited or when I feel love I can write and write!

BM: You wrote your first song at eight, would you say that music has always been a big part of your life?:

CD: Absolutely! I shudder at the thought of where my life would be without it! I can’t go anywhere without my iPod! I can’t go a single day without singing, thinking about music, dreaming about music, OBSESSING over music.

BM: You say you played the ‘Class Clown’ at school, do you ever wish you had gone into a different profession?

CD: Not at all! I was always an entertainer! I think it would’ve been easier to say “Okay, I want to be a therapist! Or a chef!” But that’s not my calling and that’s not where my heart is. This is where my heart is. I’m at home with my music and my fanss.

BM: Your song ‘Autograph’ is quite catchy and poppy, The Remix has a strong dance vibe, can the audience expect the same style from your debut album, ‘Bizarre’?

CD: People will find that ‘Autograph’ will not be like anything else on the album, meaning that the rest of the album will be a lot heavier and more aggressive. The remixes of the album are more in the direction of the sound we’re going for on the album with a strong touch of the 80’s and 70’s rock! Take the dance sound of the 80’s, the rock sounds of the 70’s and blend them with the catchy pop sounds of today with attitude, aggression and a lot of humor and you will have Bizarre.

BM: Do you see yourself moving into any other music genres?

CD: Definitely! I’m so in love with music in general! I’m already thinking of stripping down our sound for the second or third album and making it more folk, neo-soul acoustic. I love Country music! I love Jazz! I just love MUSIC and I believe I can do it all… Well, I’ll try!

BM: What accomplishment are you most proud of and what do you hope to accomplish in the future?

CD: The fact that I’m doing what I want to do is my favorite accomplishment. I’m doing what genuinely makes me happy and that changes everything with me. Also, the fact that I’m becoming successful for being what most people are so afraid to be: themselves.
